BARDEN & ROBESON ANNOUNCES GREENTREE BUILDERS

Middleport, Lockport and Tully, NY – Barden & Robeson Corporations’ President, Mr. Mark Barden, made a statement for the Board of Directors announcing that the Barden and Robeson Construction Division Inc., a separate subsidiary of Barden & Robeson, will be renamed GreenTree Builders, Inc. effective June 1st. Howie Gardner will be in charge of all operations.

GreenTree Builders, a full service general contractor featuring Barden Homes, offers a complete range of New Residential and Light Commercial Construction Services. They service much of the upstate region. The local office is located at 6409 Dysinger Road in Lockport. Another office at 2192 Thomas Albert Drive in Tully, New York services Central New York State. The offices, sales and field teams offer clients invaluable years of new construction experience to guide them through the new home building or light commercial building process, insuring a pleasurable building experience. Their Sales Administrator, Joseph P. McCombes, has over 25 years of knowledgeable, new construction experience.

“We are a quality company with a terrific history of supplying affordable housing as well as light commercial buildings to people and businesses across the state. Our mission remains one of having a total customer concentration, while keeping our family values and employee focus. We feel the new name gives us our own unique identity, and matches the exceptional goals we have set over the next few years, including the doubling of our sales,” stated Howie Gardner, General Manager for GreenTree.

“The GreenTree sales staff is available to meet with clients one-on-one, to better guide them through the home building process; or they may attend their very popular and informative Home Building Workshop Series,” stated McCombes. “Our Construction Management Team has over 20 years experience leading a competent, dedicated field team to insure on-time, on-budget projects with complete client satisfaction,” he concluded.

GreenTree Builders have developed a long history and positive working relationship with some of Western New York's most highly regarded subcontractors and material suppliers. This long-term subcontractor/builder relationship insures their clients a quality-building project with residual value for years to come.

In the year ended 2004, the parent company, Barden and Robeson, had record sales of over $50,000,000, of which GreenTree was responsible for approximately $5 million. The companies are two of the Northeast’s leading manufacturers of custom designed, precision designed homes, churches and commercial buildings. The company markets through a network of over 275 Independent Dealers, which operates and ships throughout New England, the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest. The Independent Dealers work with homeowners to provide support and guidance in scheduling and managing subcontractors. Construction financing, as well as permanent mortgages, are available to qualified buyers through third-party providers such as The Robar General Funding Corporation.

The Barden company started in 1909 as a manufacturer of wagon wheels, and has evolved over the years to meet unique new market needs. Over the years, the company has put its woodworking skills to use building bushel baskets for the fruit-growing trade located throughout the Finger Lakes region and later, ammunition boxes for the United States Armed Forces and its allies during World War II. In the home-building era that followed the war, Barden and Robeson moved into the home material market. Barden Homes manufactures custom-designed “panelized” homes, churches and commercial buildings that yield significant savings in both material and labor costs. These processes, pioneered in part by Barden Homes, reflect the company’s continued commitment to the “panelization” manufacturing process, projected by industry sources to represent almost 80% of all construction within the next 10 years.
